(Vay) Iron Mind

SG 85/20: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to holding an improved mental toughness stance. This resists damage to the brain when distracted while applying zen (distraction damage). Note this does not prevent damage, but rather reduces its effects.


(Ray) Iron Body

SG 80/10: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to holding an improved physical toughness stance. This can prevent damage that would otherwise be caused when for example acting with "Impossible Strength". Most damage though is as it is with "Iron Mind", reduced but not prevented.


(Su) Quickening

SG 75/15: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to holding a stretched time stance based on reflexes (mental/physical, initiative). It may also be considered resisting time, as completely resisting time is acting with absolute zero delay. A side effect is that sound is perceived at a lower pitch. Note, spoken conversations with those not quickened are difficult or impossible.


(Us) Bullet Dodge

SG 85/5: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to stretching a deep breath's worth of time. This is an unstable quickening. As such it does not last long and requires extra concentration to do specific things, though simply dodging or other instinctive reactions benefit from the quickening. In effect it can allow the dodging of bullets.


(Fu) Resist Gravity

SG 70/20: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to resisting gravity for a deep breath's worth of time. This takes too much concentration to hold for long. The time it takes to inhale and exhale a deep breath is roughly equal to the average amount of time that someone can hold an unstable skill. Note, whatever objects held when this skill is used are as affected, and upon leaving contact with the person instantly resume their former weight. So thrown objects become dangerous weapons especially when this skill is combined with a quickening.


(May) Absorb Impact, Major

SG 90/10: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to holding a protective stance against shattering impacts (falling or being struck by a blunt object).


(Zay) Impossible Strength

SG 90/10: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to holding an enhanced musculature stance. If not paired with a toughness stance, use will cause injury. Balance is vital when stretching into the impossible.


(Po) Invincible

SG 90/25: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to holding an enhanced melee stance.


(Tay) Soft Precision

SG 80/10: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to holding an enhanced accuracy stance. Unlike the hard precision of "Perfect Strike", Tay is more mental and perfects slight movements like those of a surgeon cutting or a sniper aiming.


(Nai) Environmental Resistance, Medium

SG 70/10: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to holding a stance that primarily resists change in temperature. "Hide" is a related stance that students are often asked to study with Nai. Note "Hide" is too closely related to be held at the same time as Nai. Also note, that which affects the senses extremely is dulled. This dulling applies to bright flashes, loud sounds, and strong smells as much as it does to extreme pain or pleasure. Also note, the body's temperature change is slowed not stopped by this stance.


(Dux) Modify Body

SG 70/15: Form, Will & Motion zens applied to holding a stance that when used in conjunction with "Body Control, Major" allows conscious changing of the body. A typical change is increasing muscle mass.
