Rice Caked In Make-Up
The abuse of race and gender.
By Nedroj Walker
I don’t like her make-up, therefore she is evil and it doesn’t matter to me directly that she is “black” or a “woman”.
Race is a corrupt concept. It is abused regularly and without mercy. It has become a dirty political word and a tool to rule. Condi Rice replacing Collin Powell as Secretary of State is a racially influenced decision. Ms Rice, as an educated black woman, is the greatest prize for any head hunter, and a coup for the Republican Party.
It is hard for me to see Mr Powell or Ms Rice as Africans. Ethically, especially Mr Powell, they appear to have a higher percentage of European ancestry then African. People choose to see them as black, though they are relatively quite pale. Some people choose to see them as different because they view Africans as being nearly another species. These people see any evidence of African ancestry as reason for defining them as being “them” instead of “us”.
This absolutism means that the group that is considered African in America is really a melting pot of all ethnicities. But typically this group is seen and sees itself as “Black” first and foremost.
People love Powell. People don’t like Rice so much. I remember liking Powell, but having no particular reason to. More recently I have had specific reasons to dislike him as a professional. In other words, in person on a personal level I might like him but professionally he is... bad.
I have never liked Rice, and having her become the Secretary of State makes my skin crawl. Directly I don’t care that she is “black” or a “woman”, but indirectly I care a great deal that the Republican party is putting so much effort into racial and gender appearance.
Could she have been hired simply because she is the best person for the job? No. It doesn’t matter how qualified she is. What matters is that she is a black woman that has passed the vetting of the Republican Party and so they can use her to get more black and woman votes.
She is just a white old man Republican under all that make-up.
Was I clear here? Did I misspeak? Am I a racist or colorblind? Am I a sexist or an equalist?
I do know I am a humanist. You can figure out the rest.
