Swish Swash

Sweep back and forth with a hand full of feathers Brightly colored and softer then anything else I feel like I could keep squeezing until my hand disappears Like a black hole collapsing upon itself Then I could watch the pretty plumage join my singularity Grinding my teeth Chips like plaster flake off Underneath the roots are black as charcoal but not from rot Rather they sing with a hunger to chew something A slice of orange blackens as it is devoured I want to rub my teeth against all bright things Cover up their colors then rend them into oblivion My eyes don't see light They see the absence of darkness Life is a luminous castle beaconing for exploration I'm drawn to its alcoves They're like steps of candles That my feet extinguish as I ascend I'm impatiently waiting for my life's flow to carry me on This port is gray And I need to eat some spring
